About Lizzie

Hi! I'm Lizzie, the Artist and Creator of Wood Vibes Art.

Pyrography art began as a hobby in 2017 when I taught myself to wood burn on driftwood after a hurricane in Florida. While that was a new and exiting medium, making art in some form has always been a foundation within me I can't help but return to. 

*(Btw please don't burn on wood that is of unknown origin. Bad things will happen, your lungs will be angry. Safety first!)

Over the years I began to move from purely burned wood towards adding vibrant watercolors with the textures and tones of pyrography. My style is still evolving as I explore the possibilities of new medium combinations. I also really enjoy creating digital art on Procreate. 

More recently I’ve begun exploring linocut printmaking and paper pyrography. Always eager to try new things, I embrace the process of discovery and learning through doing with the ultimate goal of following the direction my heart leads me.

I believe that ✨playfulness✨ is at the core of creativity and my greatest aim is to offer that sense of lightness and joy through my art.

Becoming an artist full-time has opened doors for me. I've sold at many large craft markets and my work has shipped to homes around the world. Not only have I gained so much by learning to improve my craft and meeting many amazing artists and makers, but I also gain so much by what I am able to give.

The joy my customers share with me when they see their fur baby's portrait makes my heart full. And offering a small bit of comfort with memorial pet portraits for those who have experienced loss is a very heart centered task and such a special honor. 

In addition to making art, I also love to cook delicious plant based meals, meditate on life, write intuitively, and go for magical walks in nature. I have many other projects in the works which I can't wait to share with you soon. 

I am currently getting used to living in the UK and am so excited for all the magic yet to come.
